Danger Days

My Chemical Romance at Manchester Arena tonight - first of three gigs for this weekend. Pretty manic in the pit for this one, lots of dehydrated kids coming out, and some quite tricky lighting!

Overcome

Fun night shooting Alexandra Burke at Liverpool Arena. Always worried that these things will be soundboard, but good news - not only was it in the pit, but the light was good too. Again, if we're keeping score, I missed blogging Roxy Music last week, fairly straightforward pit shoot, but frustratingly you could never see his eyes!

A Change Would Do You Good

Totally outside my comfort zone last night shooting TNA Wrestling, but it was a whole load of fun, and I'd definitely do it again. Kudos to the guys who sorted it for me, really friendly and helpful.

Back to music on Sunday...

Silent Nights

January's a quiet month so in my downtime I'm trying to work on my Photoshop technique and try and revisit old images that I've liked to see if I can get any more out of them. Here's a couple that have come out of that messing around.

Nerina Pallot at the Ruby Lounge
Taken in just a few minutes after a show as the venue was closing, I've always liked this shot but I think black & white adds something.

The Like backstage at Leeds Festival
Collared the girls by their bus on my way between shooting bands and they were kind enough to let me grab a couple of shots. Unfortunately, this one had the aforementioned dirty great bus in it, so this gave me an excuse to try out selection techniques and try and better understand the clone tool etc... It's not perfect, but it's better than it was.

Jailbreak

Two shows this year and I'm already behind on blogging them.

Thin Lizzy at Manchester Apollo. I found this one tricky - awkward angle on the stage (as is always the case for Apollo seated shows - just how it is there) but fans stood up and that didn't help matters!

What's My Name?

Packed house at the Apollo tonight for my first show of the year, Drake.

Still alive

Hopefully first gig of the new year this week, but January's always quiet.
